Student Loan Entrance Counseling & MPN
- Completing student loan entrance counseling & a Master Promissory Note (MPN) is required for first time borrowers of Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans.
- The process will take 20-30 minutes to complete, and you will need to complete each requirement in one session.
- Your school will be automatically notified when you complete this requirement.
Steps to Complete Loan Entrance Counseling:
- Log in to studentaid.gov using your FSA ID.
- Select your status to begin the correct type of student loan entrance counseling.
- Select the school(s) that you’d like to notify of your counseling completion.
- Review & complete entrance loan counseling.
- Sign & submit electronically.
- Your school will be automatically notified once you’ve completed this requirement.
Steps to Complete Master Promissory Note:
- Log in to studentaid.gov using your FSA ID.
- Choose the Direct Loan MPN you want to complete.
- Select the school(s) that you’d like to notify of your MPN completion.
- Review & complete MPN.
- Sign & submit electronically.
- Your school will be automatically notified once you’ve completed this requirement.
