Financial Advice for New College Students

Hi Friend,

As August makes its debut, we gradually move away from the leisurely pace of summer and get ready for the busy new school year ahead. Some students are gearing up for their first year of college, about to embark on new and exciting experiences, while others are just beginning their college planning journey.

Completing the FAFSA for financial aid is something most college students will do. The revamped FAFSA form has caused many issues, leading to students receiving less money for college and some even delaying their education. With the next financial aid season soon approaching, the Department of Education is working towards opening the FAFSA by October 1st with hopes that the process will be smoother this time around.

As students are set to begin their next chapter of life in college, it is important for them to have the financial skills to navigate their newfound independence. Gaining an understanding of financial literacy is essential for students to thrive during their college experience and in the years that follow graduation.

At Westface College Planning, we aim to assist you and your student in navigating the upcoming FAFSA season and getting ready for college. Our goal is to create a funding plan that can help ease the burden of paying for higher education. If you have any questions, feel free to schedule a complimentary consultation with us, where we can address your concerns!
